Scott Akins

Scott Akins has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Scott is currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering & Product Development at Schumacher Electric Corporation, a position they started in August 2021. Previously, from September 2018 to May 2021, they worked as the Director of Electronics and Software Engineering at New York Air Brake. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Manager, Electrical and Controls Engineering at Sullair, LLC from August 2014 to September 2018. From March 2006 to July 2014, Scott held the position of Vice President of Product Development at Task Force Tips. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as the Director of Engineering at Thermo Fisher Scientific / Barnant from 2003 to 2006. Scott also worked at Omnicell, where they served as the Director of Technical Services from 2000 to 2002 and as a Senior Product Manager from 1999 to 2000. Scott's professional journey began at Baxter Healthcare, where they worked as a Senior Product Manager from 1998 to 1999. Prior to their career in the private sector, Scott served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy from 1989 to 1997.
