Lea Westman

Lea Westman is an attorney at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner. Prior to their current position, they worked as an associate attorney at Kinney & Lange, P.A. from January 2015 to January 2019. There, they conducted U.S. and foreign patent preparation and prosecution in aerospace, mechanical, chemical, & materials science fields; conducted patentability searches, freedom to operate searches, analyses and opinion writing; researched and drafted memorandums for litigation matters. Prepared and prosecuted trademarks. From May 2014 to August 2014, Ms. Westman worked as a summer associate at Bowman and Brooke where they conducted legal research and wrote memorandums and briefs; prepared motions for civil practice and attended civil hearings in products liability and intellectual property litigation. Prior to that, Ms. Westman worked as a law clerk at Kroll Ontrack from June 2013 to January 2015. And before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Westman worked as a researcher at HRL Laboratories in the Sensors and Materials Laboratory from August 2010 to August 2012.

Lea Westman received their Doctor of Law from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Lea also holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Pepperdine University. In addition, they are certified by the Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200 and by the USPTO as a Patent Attorney. Finally, they are also certified by the Minnesota Supreme Court as an Attorney.
