Cindy Mitchell-Kniss

Cindy Mitchell-Kniss has a diverse work experience history. Cindy started their own business, Formative Years Growing and Learning Center, in March 2017. Prior to that, they worked as the CFO/VP Finance and Administration for the Science Center of Iowa starting in 2010. From 2006 to 2010, they served as the Director of Finance for the Des Moines Symphony and Academy. Before that, they worked as an Accountant for the Deaf Women of Iowa Against Abuse from 2004 to 2006. From 1999 to 2004, they held the position of Grant Compliance Specialist/Staff Accountant at Des Moines Public Schools. Additionally, they worked as a Staff Auditor at the State of Iowa from 1997 to 1999 and as an Accountant at Quality Wine Company from 1994 to 1997.

Cindy Mitchell-Kniss has a solid education background in the field of business administration and accounting. Cindy attended Des Moines Area Community College from 1988 to 1990, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Business Administration. Following that, they pursued their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting at Iowa State University's Ivy College of Business from 1991 to 1994.
