Tom Ruginis

Tom Ruginis is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the science and research sectors. Currently serving as Chief Strategist at Science Exchange since March 2025, Tom focuses on enhancing the happiness of scientists and the quality of their research. As the Founder and CEO of HappiLabs.org from July 2012 to June 2025, Tom led a business that provided innovative tools and services to research labs, primarily in the biotech and pharma industries. Prior roles include Creative Director at Ruugy Media, where Tom developed social media strategies for science organizations, and Freelance Consultant specializing in life science consumer research. Previous experience also encompasses roles at MIDSCI as a Laboratory Consultant and Marketing Specialist, and Relevation Research as a Market Research Intern. Educationally, Tom attended the University of Illinois Chicago, where two years were spent studying cell and molecular biology, and previously earned a B.S. in Molecular Biology from Benedictine University.
