Walter Burgess serves as Co-CEO of Power Technology, Inc. since September 1996, overseeing Sales and Engineering teams to drive revenue growth. Holding the position of Chairman on the Arkansas Science & Technology Board since January 2020, Burgess administers approximately $4.5 million per year in taxpayer funds to support job growth through startups and entrepreneurship in Arkansas. Additionally, as a mentor at the Science Venture Studio, Burgess aids science- and technology-based startups in securing federal funding. Involved in various advisory roles, including the Editorial Boards of Photonics Spectra Magazine and Laser Focus World, Burgess provides valuable insights into the photonics market. Active in economic development, Burgess has contributed to the City of Bryant's Planning Commission and participates in multiple advisory councils and boards at UALR, ensuring alignment between industry needs and educational curricula. Burgess's education includes degrees from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Central Arkansas.
