John brings an extensive background in medical devices from his roles as the founder of Scientia Vascular and Precision Vascular Systems and in engineering management at Target Therapeutics and Advanced Cardiovascular Systems. John is primary inventor on many patents as well as listed inventor on others. He has been instrumental in various product designs including stents and embolic devices in addition to the access devices in intravascular applications. He has also contributed to designs in infertility and other areas of less-invasive medicine. He is best known for the revolutionary Synchro guidewire, which became the standard in neurovascular access, the most demanding application of intravascular access. John completed his BS in chemical engineering and graduate work in ChemE and EE in the area of microfabrication processes at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
