Dr. Parris Lyew-Ayee Jr is the Chairman of the SRC and the Science Adviser to the Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, and Chairman of the International Centre for Environmental and Nuclear Sciences. He is the Director of the Mona GeoInformatics Institute at the University of the West Indies. His area of specialization is in advanced geographic information systems. His active research includes natural hazards analyses, crime and security systems modelling, road safety analyses, health systems mapping, transport systems modelling, geospatial planning for businesses, data analytics, GPS systems, virtual- and augmented-reality modelling, and web mapping.
