Gavin Strunk

Gavin Strunk is a highly experienced engineer and researcher specializing in robotics and control systems. Currently serving as the Lead Research Engineer at Scientific Systems since June 2020, Gavin has held various senior engineering roles at both Scientific Systems and Robopath LLC, where Gavin co-founded the company and serves on its Board of Advisors. Prior experience includes significant contributions as a Senior Research Scientist at Schlumberger, where Gavin focused on marine robotics autonomy and manufacturing automation. Academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas, complemented by a strong background in deep learning and reinforcement learning through Udacity programs. Gavin has been awarded a patent for a specimen archiving system and has participated in numerous projects spanning advanced robotics and reconfigurable hardware systems.
