Julia Skolnik

Project Director at SciStarter

Julia is a Project Director with SciStarter, currently directing the NSF-funded project ScienceNearMe.org project, which aims to develop an online platform that connects people to a wide variety of opportunities for public engagement in science across museums, festivals, media, and more. Julia is also the Chief Learning Officer & Founder of Professional Learning Partnerships, an organization dedicated to empowering educational organizations to make research-informed decisions based in the science of learning and leadership. She has over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing national-scale STEM education and research initiatives as well as professional development programs for informal and formal K-12 educators, through work at The Franklin Institute Science Museum, Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy, and University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Psychology.
