Tara L. Cox

Senior Project Manager at SciStarter

Tara brings over 10 years of experience in museum and STEM education to her role as Senior Project Manager on the SciStarter team. She is also the Senior Manager of Programs at the National Girls Collaborative, which aims to bring together organizations throughout the country that are committed to informing and encouraging girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Tara specializes in developing and scaling learning experiences and resources on strategies for engaging diverse audiences in STEM. Since 2017, she’s been a Co-Principal Investigator of the National Science Foundation funded, Leap into Science: Cultivating a National Network for Science and Literacy, where she leads the development of the train-the-trainer network. Tara is passionate about growing and supporting organizations and projects that strive to broaden participation of traditionally underrepresented audiences in STEM.

Prior to joining the SciStarter team, Tara led professional development and outreach efforts for The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA. She has a degree in Anthropology from Barnard College, Columbia University.
