Evan Goodwin

Co-Founder & CTO at Scoot Science

Evan Goodwin is the Co-Founder and CTO at Scoot Science. Prior to Scoot Science, Evan Goodwin was a Research and Development Engineer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography from August 2013 to October 2019. There, they worked on spray underwater glider operations. Goodwin was also a Research Specialist at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from September 2012 to July 2013 and a Specialist at UC Santa Cruz from June 2012 to July 2013. During their time as a Graduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Cruz from September 2009 to April 2012, Goodwin researched the role of circumpolar deep water in the Amundsen Sea polynya and presented their findings at the Ocean Sciences Meeting in Salt Lake City in February 2012. In addition, Goodwin was an Environmental Engineering Intern at Qualitas Instruments from June 2008 to August 2008 and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Rutgers University, Coastal Ocean Observation Lab from September 2006 to May 2009. Lastly, Goodwin was the Rock Climbing Gym Manager at Rutgers University from September 2005 to May 2009.

Evan Goodwin has a Master of Science in Ocean Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography, Chemical and Physical from Rutgers University.

Some direct reports include Connor Dibble - Lead Data Engineer, Roddy Morrison - Software Engineer, and Mika Aguilar - Software Engineer. Their manager is Jonathan LaRiviere, Co-Founder & CEO.
