Matthias Kannegiesser's work experience begins in 1996 with an internship at SAP, where they worked on a reference model for BPM-Software. Starting from 2016, they worked as the Founder and CEO of time2sustain GmbH, a company builder for startups focused on sustainability challenges. In 2017, Kannegiesser founded sustainable natives eG, a cooperative that works on the sustainable transformation by collaborating with companies and organizations. Matthias'smost recent career move was in 2022 when they founded score4more GmbH, a startup spin-off of time2sustain that supports mid-sized companies in improving their sustainability performance through sustainability scorings based on the Sustainability Code standard.

Matthias Kannegiesser completed their education in a chronological order. From 1994 to 2000, they attended the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and obtained a Diplom degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1996, they also received an Erasmus Scholarship and studied Business Administration and Economics at the University of Valencia for a year. Later, from 2004 to 2008, they pursued their Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at the Technische Universität Berlin.
