Lars Dencker Nielsen

Lars Dencker Nielsen has extensive work experience in the shipping industry. Lars started their career in 1998 as a Chartering Manager Eastern Hemisphere at Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S. Lars then joined BP in 2000, where they held various roles, including Regional Chartering Manager and Global Chartering Manager. In 2012, Nielsen became the CEO of Jellicoe Tankers Ltd. Lars later joined Scorpio in 2018 as a Commercial Director and currently holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Scorpio Tankers Inc.

Lars Dencker Nielsen attended Herlufsholm Kostskole from 1981 to 1987, where they obtained their high school degree with a focus on languages. From 1989 to 1990, they attended Copenhagen Business School and earned a degree in economics. Later, in 1991 to 1992, they studied at the Institute of Charterered Shipbrokers and obtained a FICS degree in shipping. In 2007, they briefly enrolled in the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
