James McClelland has a diverse work experience in the software development field. James started their career as an Apprentice Software Developer at Recycling Lives Ltd in 2013 and quickly progressed to become a Software Developer. James took over and led the largest codebase at the company, learning the system quickly and providing support directly to end-users. James also created an API wrapper for a 3rd party API and implemented major updates to existing Symfony and Laravel projects.
In 2016, James joined Newreg as a Senior Software Developer. James played a key role in migrating PHP4 code to PHP5.6, reverse engineering and migrating Oracle stored procedures, and implementing various features and enhancements. James also trained a junior developer and facilitated their quick integration into the team.
Currently, James is working at Scorpion Automotive Ltd as a Head of Software since January 2021. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in tracking for Scorpion. James led internal Laravel and Lumen projects and dockerized projects for ease of local development.
