Kelly Liu

Kelly Liu is an experienced professional in the fields of AI and machine learning, currently serving as Manager at Scotiabank since March 2023. Liu spearheaded an end-to-end Natural Language Processing project aimed at mitigating sanction risk, revealing significant insights into false negatives in suspicious hit screenings. Prior to Scotiabank, Liu worked at Uplift Inc. as a Data Scientist from September 2019 to June 2022, where contributions included developing risk rules and fraud models that identified high-risk applicants and automated validation processes. Liu also held the position of Fraud Analyst, creating automated scripts for fraud definitions and implementing a Random Forest model for loan reviews. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in Specialist Statistics, Applied Science from the University of Toronto, obtained in 2019.
