Melissa Bond

Melissa Bond is the Director of Financial Services at Scott County Family YMCA. Melissa has over 20 years of experience in financial management and accounting, with a focus on non-profit organizations.

Bond began their career as a fiscal director at Project NOW, Inc., where they oversaw all accounting functions and audits for the agency. Melissa was responsible for maintaining complete financial records, preparing annual budgets, analyzing monthly financial statements, and cost reporting for programs. Bond also established and implemented policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls were in place and audit and funding source requirements were met.

After several years at Project NOW, Bond was able to obtain a clean audit report. This was a significant accomplishment, as previous audit reports had included findings. Bond attributed this success to the development of a cross-trained and productive fiscal department team, as well as improved communication with agency auditors and funding source auditors/reviewers.

In their current role at Scott County Family YMCA, Bond is responsible for the financial management of the organization. This includes overseeing the budgeting process, handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and supervising staff. Bond is also responsible for human resources needs of the agency.

Melissa Bond received their bachelor's degree in accounting from Mt St Clare College. Melissa then went on to receive their actuarial science and accounting degree from the University of Iowa.
