Rory Stride

Rory Stride is currently serving as a Funding Policy Officer in the Finance Directorate at the Scottish Funding Council since August 2023. Previously, Rory worked as a Parliamentary Researcher and Constituency Assistant at the Scottish Parliament from June 2022 to August 2023, and as a Research & Communications Assistant at the same institution from June 2014 to December 2018. Rory's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History, a Master of Science (MSc) in Historical Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and Politics and International Relations, all obtained from the University of Strathclyde. Additionally, Rory studied at Stockholm University, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Politics, International Relations, and History during the 2015-2016 academic year. Experience in education includes a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Strathclyde, where instruction was provided to first-year undergraduate students on two specific modules.
