Stuart Irwin currently serves as a Policy and Research Officer for the Scottish Labour Party, a position held since September 2021. Prior experience includes working as a Community Choices Development Officer for Falkirk Council, where responsibilities involved engaging with local communities to implement a participatory budgeting scheme, and as a Graduate in Democratic Services, coordinating scrutiny committees and providing research support. Stuart has been a Founding Member, Trustee, and Treasurer of Integrated Alumni, a network supporting integrated education in Northern Ireland, and participated in the Global Shapers Community as a Shaper, leading community improvement projects. Additionally, involvement in the Washington Ireland Program and various internships contributed to professional development and community service initiatives. Educational qualifications include a PhD in History, an MA in Irish History, and a BA in Modern History, all from Queen's University Belfast.
