Thomas Nikolaou

Thomas Nikolaou is an experienced energy trader currently serving as Lead Energy Trader for GEM at ScottishPower since January 2024. Previously, Thomas worked as a Senior Curve Trader at SSE Thermal, where responsibilities included hedging and optimizing the gas storage portfolio. Thomas also held the position of Shift Trader in Gas Storage at SSE plc from August 2018 to January 2023. Early career experiences include working as a barman at The Old Irish Pub, managing spare parts at Nikolaou AEBE, and serving as a software developer in the Hellenic Army. Thomas holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Energy from DTU - Technical University of Denmark and a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Patras.
