Raymond Buchanan

Raymond Buchanan is a seasoned professional in corporate affairs and communications with extensive experience in the utilities and engineering sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Corporate Affairs at Scottish Water since December 2024, Buchanan leads corporate strategies for one of the UK's largest utility providers. Prior to this role, Buchanan was the Chief Communications Officer at SSE plc, where responsibilities included advocating for a rapid clean energy transition. Buchanan also held the position of Group Head of Communications & Public Affairs at The Weir Group PLC and served as a Political Correspondent & Presenter for BBC News, delivering impactful narratives to a broad audience. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from Strathclyde Business School and a Master of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Glasgow.
