Juan Nevarez

EVP at SCOUT ENERGY MANAGEMENT, LLC

Juan Nevarez joined Scout in 2011 and is responsible for asset acquisition sourcing and screening, acquisition engineering, economic evaluation, price and terms negotiation and operations due diligence. He manages the firm's exploitation group which includes both engineering and geologic evaluation and underwriting of production development opportunities in Scout fields. He is also responsible for management and reporting of reserves and coordination of the third-party reserve audit process, as well as Operations for the West Division.

Juan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University and a Master in Business Administration from California State University. He has over 26 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas business serving as Production Operations Supervisor for Texaco and Chevron, Senior Exploitation Engineer for Merit Energy and Senior Acquisitions Engineer for Denbury Resources.

He is a Qualified Reserves Estimator, and a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas. Juan serves on the Board of Directors for Texas Tech University System Foundation and is a member of the Texas Tech Engineering Dean’s Council, Texas Tech Petroleum Industry Advisory Board, Professional Engineer Exam Committee, Society of Petroleum Engineers and ADAM Energy Forum. In recognition of his achievements and contributions in the industry, he was inducted into the Petroleum Engineering Academy at Texas Tech University in 2016. Juan also volunteers with Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), serving both as a volunteer working with children in the foster care system and as a member of CASA's Board of Directors.
