Anissa Stambouli

Associate Director, Communications at Scouts Canada

Anissa Stambouli has a diverse work experience in various roles related to communications, marketing, and social media management. Anissa started their career at Corus Entertainment as a Digital Editorial Intern, where they wrote daily content for a blog-style publication and developed social media content. Anissa then worked at Jimmy's Coffee as a Social Media Manager, responsible for managing the company's social media presence. Following this, they joined J. Walter Thompson Worldwide as a Community Manager on a contract basis, where they supported the development and execution of communications and marketing plans.

Anissa then moved on to INSPADES Magazine as an Assistant Editor, where they were involved in implementing communication and marketing strategies, including content curation and creation, analytic reporting, and digital marketing. In their role at Scouts Canada as a Marketing and Development Coordinator, they supported the creation and execution of communications and marketing plans, with a focus on member engagement on social media platforms and coordinating the national Volunteer Social Media Team. As an Associate Director of Communications at Scouts Canada, Anissa successfully developed agency relationships, resulting in extensive media campaigns and increased brand visibility. Anissa also managed recruitment campaigns and marketing and PR for national youth program challenges, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

Anissa Stambouli completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature, Honours at Mount Allison University from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they also participated in a study abroad program at the University of Limerick, focusing on English. From 2007 to 2009, they attended CEGEP - John Abbott College, where they pursued Creative Arts, Literature, and Languages, with a specific focus on Arts and Culture.

In terms of additional certifications, Anissa obtained a certification in Global PR Summit from The P World in November 2019. In April 2019, they completed a course on Social Media Strategy - "Create Buzz for your Brand on a Budget" at the Canadian Society of Association Executives. Anissa also obtained a certification in Environmental Citizenship from Algonquin College in January 2019. In the same month, they completed a course on Strategic Communications Planning at the University of Ottawa. Additionally, in March 2018, they obtained a certification in Project Management Fundamentals from Tarka Consulting Inc.
