Chad Toprak is a seasoned professional in the independent videogame sector, currently serving as Games Investment Manager at Screen Australia since March 2023. With extensive experience as Co-director and Curator of Hovergarden since March 2013, Chad fosters the culture of independent and alternative videogames through curated events. Previously, Chad held significant roles including Board Member at Queerly Represent Me and Multimedia and Events Officer for the City of Melbourne. As Artistic Director of Freeplay, the world's longest-running independent games festival, and Curator of the Contours Exhibition, Chad has made notable contributions to the Australian games community. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Media and Communication with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Art, both from RMIT University, complemented by a Diploma of Multimedia from Swinburne University of Technology.
