Nico Karssemeijer has a long history of work experience. Nico began their career in 1984 as a scientific programmer at Leiden University. In 1989, they moved to Radboud University Nijmegen as a professor. In 1996, they became a consultant at R2 Technology. Nico then moved to U-Systems, A GE Healthcare Company in 2000 as a consultant. In 2008, they co-founded QView Medical as a scientific consultant. In 2009, they co-founded Volpara Health Technologies as a scientific advisor. Finally, in 2014, they joined ScreenPoint Medical as the Chief Science Officer and then became the CEO.
Nico Karssemeijer obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Imaging from Radboud University. Prior to this, they obtained their Master's degree in Physics from Delft University of Technology. Nico also attended Streeklyceum Ede for their secondary education.
