Kai-Yuan Chen has extensive work experience in the field of data science and computational genomics. They are currently the Director of Data Science and Tech Platform at Scribe Therapeutics. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Data Science at Omega Therapeutics and served as the Associate Director of Data Science at the same company. They also worked as a Principal Scientist at Engine Biosciences, where they were responsible for establishing cloud architecture and leading a team in building computational biology methods and ML modeling. Before that, Kai-Yuan Chen worked as a Computational Scientist at Intellia Therapeutics, Inc. and as a Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University, where they led interdisciplinary projects and conducted research in epigenomics profiling, CRISPR screening, and metabolomics in cancer metastasis.
Kai-Yuan Chen pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University between 2001 and 2005. Afterward, between 2005 and 2007, they attained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. Subsequently, from 2009 to 2010, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. Finally, from 2010 to 2015, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, also from Cornell University.
