Sumaiya Nasrin

Sumaiya Nasrin is an accomplished medical scribe currently working with ScribeAmerica since September 2021 and also serves as a TeleScribe. Alongside these roles, Sumaiya is a hospital volunteer at Stony Brook Medicine, focusing on patient care at the Stony Brook Cancer Center to alleviate food insecurity. Engagement in career development has been fostered through participation in Pathways to Healthcare, as well as the Diversity Professional Leadership Network. Further contributions include serving as a research assistant at Stony Brook University and interning with The Humanology Project. Sumaiya has received recognition as Commuter Assistant of the Year and holds scholarship experience with the NERA MedPrep HCOP Academy at Mount Sinai and Columbia University, showcasing a commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and education. Academic pursuits include a Master of Science in Biomedical Science at Stony Brook University, building upon a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, along with an Associate of Science degree from Queensborough Community College.
