Eric Topol

Eric Topol, MD, is a distinguished physician and academic leader with extensive experience in cardiovascular medicine and translational research. Currently serving as the Founder and Director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute and Executive Vice President at The Scripps Research Institute since January 2007, Topol also holds the position of Professor of Molecular Medicine. In addition to these roles, Topol is a cardiologist and Chief Academic Officer at Scripps Health. Previous leadership experience includes serving as Vice-Chairman at the West Wireless Health Institute and Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic. Topol earned an MD with Honor from the University of Rochester and a BA with Highest Distinction in Biomedicine from the University of Virginia.
