Mark Hannay

Mark Hannay has a diverse work experience in the finance industry. Mark is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Scroll Finance, a fintech startup that provides smart financing to homeowners and landlords. Mark was part of the founding management team and played a crucial role in securing funding for the company. Prior to Scroll Finance, Mark worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Active Securities, where they were also part of the founding team. Active Securities is a tech-focused specialty finance operation that offers loans to UK consumers through proprietary technology and big data analytics. Mark helped the company grow from its inception to achieving a peak run rate of around 30,000 loans per month. In addition, Mark served as a Board Director at BCCA Ltd, a trade association representing businesses in the alternative finance industry. Mark played a key role in the merger between BCCA and The Consumer Finance Association. Earlier in their career, Mark worked as an Associate at The Kessler Group and was seconded from Pepper Financial Services Group to Credit Suisse. Mark began their career as an Analyst at Pepper Financial Services Group (formerly known as Oakwood Global Finance).

Mark Hannay completed their education in a chronological order. From 1993 to 2000, they attended Bishop's Stortford College, where they did not earn a specific degree or field of study. In 2000, they enrolled at the University of Oxford and obtained an MA in Human Sciences, completing their studies in 2003. After a break, from 2009 to 2011, Mark pursued further education at Birkbeck, University of London, earning an MSc in Management.
