Linda Brown

Linda Brown is co-founder and Senior Vice President of SCS, and a member of the company Board of Directors. Linda has actively participated in the development and implementation of the company's strategic initiatives and certification programs since its launch in 1984. She has served in a multitude of leadership capacities, such as Director of Environmental Claims Certification, Director to Sustainable Agriculture, and Communications Director. She also sits on the Board of Directors. Linda is passionate about advancing environmental and social responsibility, particularly through accurate, compelling communications and the development of leadership standards. She is a strong advocate for environmental literacy and transparency in ecolabeling, and a resource to the SCS marketing and communications team.

Before joining SCS, Linda worked as a grant writer for municipalities across the United States, then later worked as an editor for two trade publications. She has been active in support of social justice and environmental issues for decades, most recently co-founding an NGO to address climate change issues regionally based on the best available science.
