Alen Duric

Alen Duric has extensive work experience in the maritime industry. ALEN started their career as an Engine Cadet at Mediteranska plovidba in 1996 and later worked as a 2nd Engineer at Korkyra Shipping Ltd. from 2003 to 2008. ALEN then spent six years as a 1st Engineer at JAN DE NUL before joining Cunard Line as a 3rd Engineer from 2014 to 2015. Duric continued their career at Korkyra Shipping Ltd. as a 1st Engineer from 2016 to 2019. ALEN then joined Overseas Adventure Travel as a 1st Engineer from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they serve as a 2nd Engineer at Royal Caribbean Group since 2022. In 2023, Duric transitioned to the role of Staff Chief Engineer at Scylla AG before becoming the Chief Engineer later that year.

Alen Duric obtained their Engineer's degree in Marine Engineering from Maritime High School, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. ALEN later pursued further education at the University of Zadar from 2013 to 2015, where they earned a degree in Marine Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Duric has obtained several certifications related to their field. These include certifications such as Chief Engineer Officer on a ship Powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3000 KW propulsion power or more III/2, Advanced fire-fighting VI/3, Basic training VI/1, Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats operation VI/2-1, Medical first aid certificate VI/4-1, Second Engineer STCW III/2, Crisis management and human behavior training, Crowd management training, Passenger Ship Safety, Passenger safety, cargo safety and hull integrity training, Safety training for personnel direct service to passenger space, Engine room resource management A-III/1 A-III/2 A-III/3, Use of leadership and managerial skills A-II/2 A-III/2, Seafarer with designated security duties VI/6-2, and Security awareness VI/6-1. Duric has acquired these certifications from various institutions, including the Republic of Croatia Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and Diverso Impex.
