Lead Test Engineer at Scythe Robotics

Nathaniel Czarnecki has held various engineering positions throughout their career. In 2021, they began working as a Quality and Test Engineer at Scythe Robotics. From 2018 to 2021, they worked at John Deere as an Automation Perception Engineer, where they designed and implemented an extended kalman filter (EKF) based SLAM algorithm to map the environment around construction machines and developed a unique lightweight stereo camera detection algorithm in C++ utilizing OpenCV on an embedded Linux controller. Additionally, they created a python/SQL backend to manage terabytes of labeled image data and their associated meta-data and optimized stereo camera based detection triggers to handle automated data recording. In 2017, they worked as a PV&V Stress Test Engineering Intern, where they developed a Python based program on a Microsoft Surface Pro to auto-generate a PDF and Excel Document to record strain gage placement. In 2016, they worked as a Hydraulic Engineering Intern at John Deere.

Nathaniel Czarnecki attended Penn State University from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
