Electra Tapanari's work experience begins in 2010 with a placement in the Text Mining group at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), where they worked on building a semantic representation of functional genomics data in a database. From 2011 to 2015, they worked as a Bioinformatician and Data Coordinator in the HAVANA group at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, developing and maintaining Perl pipelines for gene annotation data analysis.

In 2015, Electra joined the EBI again, this time as a Senior Software Developer in the Ensembl Genomes group. In this role, they developed a Perl pipeline that communicated with RESTful APIs and created track hubs with RNAseq alignments for plant species. Electra also utilized version control systems and distributed the pipeline through open-source platforms like Github.

In 2020, they worked as a Bioinformatician and Data Analyst in the group of Dr. Nuria Lopez-Bigas at IRB Barcelona, focusing on biomedical genomics. Electra'sresponsibilities in this role are not specified.

Most recently, since December 2021, Electra has been working at SDG Group as a Product Analyst for EMEA Brand Performance in the pharmaceutical industry. Electra'smain tasks involve creating and maintaining Qlik Sense Dashboards for brand performance in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. Electra liaises between the business requirements and the technical team for implementation, following an Agile methodology. Electra is also responsible for monitoring the entire process to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results.

Electra Tapanari earned a Bachelor's degree (BEng) in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from the International Hellenic University from 2003 to 2009. Electra then pursued a Master's degree (MSc) in Bioinformatics at Queen Mary University of London from 2009 to 2010. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Cambridge Proficiency of English (C2) certification from the University of Cambridge in June 2003. Electra also completed various data science-related courses, such as Intro to Python for Data Science Course, Intermediate Python for Data Science, Python Data Science Toolbox (Part 1), Python Data Science Toolbox (Part 2), Importing Data in Python (Part 1), Importing Data in Python (Part 2), Panda Foundations, Cleaning Data in Python, Manipulating DataFrames with Pandas, and Introduction to Databases in Python, all from DataCamp, with the most recent certification achieved in October 2018.
