Established in 2010, SDI LaFarga COPPERWORKS™ is the only company in the U.S. that uses state-of-the-art technology to reclaim processed copper, refine it and create new, high-quality copper products for customers from a variety of industries. From our facility in New Haven, Indiana, we manufacture rod, drawn solid wire and can welding wire. Because COPPERWORKS uses secondary copper to make new copper products, our unique process has a significantly lower environmental impact.

Our Can-Do culture fosters a high-performance team that continually innovates to create the best fire-refined copper products. We are customer-driven, working alongside our customers and providing the solutions and expert engineering assistance they need. 

COPPERWORKS is a joint venture between the La Farga Group in Spain and Steel Dynamics, one of the nation’s largest domestic steel producers and metals recyclers in the U.S.
