Annie Shaw

Annie Shaw has over a decade of experience in the field of biomedical research and laboratory supervision. From November 2009 to July 2021, they worked at UPMC as a Research Assistant, specializing in non-invasive prenatal diagnosis. In this role, they focused on developing new clinical assays and utilizing next generation sequencing technologies for improved prenatal diagnostics. In July 2021, Annie joined SignatureDx as a Laboratory Supervisor. SignatureDx is a biotechnology company collaborating with the University of Pittsburgh and Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation. Annie's responsibilities at SignatureDx include overseeing the diagnostic laboratory, SDx Labs, and delivering various tests to local communities, including COVID-19 infection testing. Annie also holds the position of Laboratory Supervisor at SDx Labs, starting in July 2021.

Annie Shaw holds a Master's degree in Human Genetics, which they obtained from the University of Pittsburgh. Annie pursued their Master's degree from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Business Administration at Carnegie Mellon University between 2005 and 2009.
