Marco Guedes

Marco Guedes has a diverse and extensive work experience in the automotive industry. Marco is currently serving as the Vice President of Europe at SEA Electric since 2022. Previously, they were the Area Manager - Bus & Coach at Scania South Africa from November 2019 to December 2021. During their tenure, they successfully re-distributed the sales force, reduced staff and overheads, and achieved significant improvements in sales, market share, and profitability.

Prior to that, Marco worked at Marcopolo as the General Manager responsible for the complete end-to-end business in southern Africa. Marco implemented various strategies to improve performance, including the introduction of new production planning guidelines and cost-saving measures. Marco also restructured the organization to ensure a lean business operation. Additionally, they served as the Commercial Manager and Volare GM, achieving the highest coach sales record in company history and overseeing the launch of local products and factories.

Before joining Marcopolo, Marco gained valuable experience at Volvo Buses as a Sales and Business Development Manager from March 2013 to September 2015. In this role, they successfully grew sales and market share in Sub-Saharan Africa, increased the customer base, and consistently achieved sales targets.

Marco'scareer started with various positions at Marcopolo, where they worked as a Commercial Manager and Sales Executive. Marco also had a role as a Sales Executive at Irizar S., Coop. and served as the Volare Product Coordinator and Commercial Assistant at Marcopolo.
