Katrien Vandevelde

Katrien Vandevelde is a dedicated conservationist and professional with extensive experience in both the non-profit and healthcare sectors. As the Founder of BlueShark Conservation since January 2014, Katrien has led initiatives aimed at ocean and shark conservation through impactful projects and awareness campaigns. In addition to this role, Katrien serves as the Head Secretary in the geriatrics department at Gasthuisberg Hospital since January 2008. Katrien has also contributed to various conservation efforts as a Volunteer for Shark Savers, a Board Member for the Sea First Foundation, and as the Co-founder and Administrator of The Global Shark Initiative.
