Vadym Vasylyev

Chief Officer at SeaBird Exploration

Vadym Vasylyev has extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Vadym started their career in 2009 as a 3rd Officer at V.Ships, where they worked until 2012. In 2012, Vadym joined SeaBird Exploration as a Second Officer on a 2D Seismic Vessel and later became a Chief Officer on a 2D Seismic Vessel and Seismic Research Vessel 4D OBN. Vadym was responsible for supervising the control of safety equipment onboard and performing GMDSS operator duties. Vadym also worked as a Second Officer on a Seismic Research Vessel "Osprey Explorer" at SeaBird Exploration FZ-LLZ.

Vadym Vasylyev completed a Basic (Induction) Course in Dynamic Positioning at the Lerus Training Centre in 2014. Prior to that, they attended the Odessa National Maritime Academy from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Navigation. Following that, from 2007 to 2009, Vadym studied at the same institution and obtained a Specialist's degree in Navigation. Additionally, they obtained the B1 OCS Visa from the USA Embassy in Kiev in September 2018, and the Dynamic Position Operator certification from Lerus Limited in February 2014.
