Arina Motova

Arina Motova has a diverse work experience in the field of fisheries economics and consultancy. Arina began their career in 2008 as a Fisheries Economist and Consultant for the Europos Regioninės Politikos Institutas, where they provided services for the Fisheries Department under the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2010, they joined Megapesca as a Fisheries Economist and later became a Chief Project Manager at Europos Regioninės Politikos Institutas. In 2012, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) - European Commission's Science Service. In the same year, they also worked as a Fisheries economist in the project AQUAFIMA at Klaipedos University. Arina joined Vilnius University in 2008 as a PhD student and assistant. In 2010, they became a Vice President at the European Association of Fisheries Economists. Arina then contributed to the A Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries as a Fisheries Economist/Expert and as a member of the plenary from 2004 to 2012. In 2016, they became a Plenary Member at A Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries. Currently, they are working at Seafish as the Chief Economist and previously served as the Chief Economist/Interim Head of Team before that. Throughout their career, Arina Motova has shown expertise in fisheries economics and has held leadership positions in various organizations.

Arina Motova obtained their M. Sc. degree in International Economics and EU Economic Studies from Vilnius University from 1998 to 2004. Arina then pursued PhD courses at the University of Portsmouth in the field of Economics of Fisheries Management & Bio-economic Modelling.
