Marcos Barrera

Marcos Barrera has a long and varied career in the technology industry. Marcos began their career in 2000 as the Webmaster for ULTRAViBE, where they created and led the transition from a youth portal to a web video provider. In 2002, they became President of Navturn and then moved on to PlanetMagpie in 2004, where they held the position of Senior Technical Sales/Network Services Manager. In 2006, Marcos joined InfinIT Consulting as a Senior Sales Engineer and then moved on to Intelipedics in 2011 as a Technology Advisor. From 2010 to 2014 they worked as a Technical Consultant for Freelance/Contract and then in 2020 joined Seafloor Systems, Inc. as a Lead Robotics and AI Research Engineer.

Marcos Barrera has a diverse educational background. Marcos attended MiraCosta College in 2019, where they completed an Engineering Technician Program. From 2016 to 2019, they attended San Diego Mesa College, graduating with an Associate's degree in Mathematics and Pre-Engineering Mathematics. In 2018, they received a AI Programming with Python Nanodegree from Udacity. Additionally, in 2015 and 2016, they completed a Full Stack Web Developer Nanodegree from Udacity. Marcos also has several certifications, including a NVIDIA DLI Certificate in Getting Started with AI on Jetson Nano from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute in 2020, a NVIDIA DLI Certificate in Getting Started with DeepStream for Video Analytics on Jetson Nano from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute in 2020, a PID Controllers - Intro to Control Design from Udemy in 2020, a PID Control with Arduino from Udemy in 2020, and a Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects from Coursera in 2017.
