Don Nadun Kuruppumullage has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Their most recent position was as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Seal Shield™, a company specializing in healthcare infection control products. Prior to this, they served as a Mechanical Engineering Consultant at SegAna LLC, where they contributed to the development of medical devices and cloud-based software for radiation treatment of cancer. At the University of Central Florida, Don Nadun worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and later as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, focusing on their PhD research on bio-mechanical models of human airway functionality. Don Nadun also had teaching positions at the University of Moratuwa and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. Additionally, Don Nadun gained engineering experience as an intern at TU München, where they were involved in the design and testing of a desalination plant. Their work on the project earned him recognition as a finalist for the Mondialogo Engineering Award in 2009.

Don Nadun Kuruppumullage completed their education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Don Nadun obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Central Florida, where they studied from 2012 to 2018. Prior to their Ph.D., they also earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, studying from 2012 to 2015. Before attending the University of Central Florida, Don Nadun Kuruppumullage obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, where they studied from 2006 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Don Nadun Kuruppumullage obtained two certifications. In January 2017, they became a StarCCM+ Certified Star User - Blue Level through the Star-CCM+ Training Advisory Group. Don Nadun also obtained a Tomorrow's Faculty Program Certificate from the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Central Florida in August 2015.
