Anya Hurwitz currently serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for Californians Together and has been President & Executive Director/CEO of SEAL (Sobrato Early Academic Language) since July 2017, where responsibilities include directing a non-profit educational organization focused on meeting the needs of young English Learners. Previous roles include Deputy Director at the Sobrato Family Foundation, Project Lead at Pivot Learning Partners, and Network Leader for Empowerment Schools within the NYC Department of Education. Anya Hurwitz’s educational background includes a Doctor of Education from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master's degree in Education Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Michigan.
