Lori Halvorson

Lori Halvorson currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Executive Director at City Year since July 2016, where responsibilities include overseeing various operational aspects, fundraising, and managing outreach efforts. Previously, Lori held the position of Managing Director of People and Operations at City Year, playing a key role in personnel strategies and operational management. Lori's extensive experience in education includes teaching English at the American International School of Lagos and serving as a French teacher for high school students through Teach For America. Lori also worked as a Community Health Development Worker with the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso, focusing on health education and girls' empowerment. Lori holds a B.A. from Carleton College in French & Francophone Studies and African & African American Studies. Additionally, Lori is a certified fitness instructor with certifications in Pop Pilates and PIIT.
