Mary Desmond began their work experience as an Accounting Officer at Seafirst National Bank in 1991. During their time there, they managed and supported all accounting operations for the bank and its subsidiaries, coordinated audits, and provided financial information for reporting. Mary also served as the CFO of Seafirst Investment Services. In 1993, Mary joined The Seattle Times as a Cash Manager, where they managed the RFP process, implemented new cash management products, and led the conversion of the ERP system. Mary worked at The Seattle Times until 2014. Following that, Mary worked as a Treasury Manager at zulily from 2014 to 2018, and then at Starbucks from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Financial Operations at Sealaska Corporation.
Mary Desmond attended Santa Clara University from 1973 to 1977, although the degree and field of study are not specified. Mary then pursued an MBA in Finance at Seattle University from 1989 to 1993. It is also worth noting that Mary has obtained a certification in CTP from the Association of Financial Professionals, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
