Youri Wentzel has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. In 1999, they joined Magion, where they served in various technical and management positions until 2007. From there, they moved on to Total E&P Nederland, where they worked as a Technical Specialist focused on cybersecurity standards. In 2008, Wentzel worked as an Instrumentation Control Engineer for CB&I on the Zuidwending project. Later that year, they joined Invensys as a Construction and Commissioning Manager, overseeing the merge of control rooms at AVEBE. In 2008, Wentzel also worked at Vermilion Energy, first as a Tendering Manager for the Garijp Treatment Center DCS Migration Project, and then as an Engineering and Commissioning Manager for the Garijp Treatment Center DCS Migration Project. In 2009, they joined Royal Imtech N.V as a Senior Project Engineer, leading the BLNG re-instrumentation project. Wentzel then returned to Vermilion Energy in 2012, working as an Engineering Management - Project Delivery for the Middenmeer Treatment Centre Pneumatic Retrofit project. In 2011, they joined Shell / NAM, starting as a Front End Development Project Engineer and later becoming a Project Lead for complex control and safeguarding systems. Finally, in 2013, Wentzel founded SeaQurrent®, a company focused on connecting the conventional energy sector and the renewable energy sector to provide renewable power generation solutions.
From 1991 to 1996, Youri Wentzel attended the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Youri pursued a degree in Drilling and Production Technology with a focus on the Institute for Petroleum- and Gastechnology HTS "Noorderhaaks".
