Jess Nelson

Director of Recruiting, Strategic Accounts at SEARCH Group Partners

Jess’s recruiting career began at Utah State University where she was a mentor to the student recruiters whose job it was to bring top talent to Logan. While balancing her class schedule and academic scholarship, she was offered a position with the globally renowned 5k fun run, The Color Run, before graduating with a BA in Journalism & Communications.

At The Color Run, Jess quickly progressed from Public Relations Coordinator to Senior Event Director, holding many positions along the way. Her interest in recruiting expanded as she was responsible for identifying and selecting 250 volunteers for each event. The highlight of her time at The Color Run was when she spearheaded the organization and logistics of “The MLB All-Star 5k” event presented by Nike. Jess organized the 18,000-person event seamlessly and received high praises from the sponsors.

Jess’s experience with recruiting and passion for providing a unique and exceptional customer experience made her a perfect fit for the Strategic Accounts Director role at SEARCH Group Partners. In her role, she is responsible for maintaining customer relationships and full cycle recruiting for several of SGP’s largest accounts, including Google and Goldman Sachs.

When she’s not working, you can find Jess spending time with her partner Taylor and their dogs Scout & Jade, backpacking in the Uintas, snowboarding in the Wasatch, traveling with friends, or fly-fishing on The Snake River.
