Maricruz Carrillo

Maricruz Carrillo, PhD, currently serves as a Product Development Engineer at SeaSpine and is the Founder & CEO of Menos Waste, where sustainable growth for small businesses is facilitated through the pillars of Environmental, Social, Financial, and Cultural Sustainability. Carrillo completed a PhD at San Diego State University while working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Powder Technology Lab, focusing on the Additive Manufacturing of Ceramic materials for Tissue Engineering and bioimplants. Previous roles include Substitute Teacher for the State of California, Instructor at Play-Well TEKnologies, English Language Assistant at CIEP, Associate Project Engineer at UTC Aerospace Systems on the Boeing 787 Nacelle Program, Engineering Intern at United Technologies, and Research Assistant at the Pre-College Institute. Carrillo holds a Joint Doctoral Program degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego and San Diego State University, a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from San Diego State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
