Michael Zedelmair

VP Engineering at Seatrec

Michael Zedelmair is the VP of Engineering at Seatrec. He is responsible for the design and fabrication of Seatrec’s SL1 and SLG thermal engines (PCM-based, solid-to-liquid). With a background in thermo and fluid dynamics, he performs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to advance new ideas to improve heat transfer performance of critical components. Besides working on exciting and innovative research projects, one of his favorite parts of the job is being at sea and testing Seatrec’s latest products.

Prior to Seatrec, he spent nearly a decade with Airbus as an Engineering and Data Management Consultant working on aircraft programs such as the A380 and A350. An avid classic car fan, he started his career at ESCAD, AG, where he was a design engineer working on projects for Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, and BMW.

He holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on thermal fluid systems from California State University Northridge and a B.S. from Berufsakademie Friedrichshafen in Automotive Engineering.
