Russ Williams

SVP, Chief Operating Officer at Seattle Children's Healthcare System

As senior vice president and chief operating officer, Russ Williams oversees key system operations areas including Facilities; Human Resources; Marketing and Communications; and Research Service Line Operations.

Over the last 20 years of working in healthcare, Williams has shown his strength in building needed relationships for providing the best care possible. Prior to his role at Seattle Children’s, Williams served for 3½ years as chief operating officer of Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. During that time, he led major facilities expansions; facilitated planning and development of key service lines; and maintained complex systems that supported patient, family and clinical operations across the institution.

Prior to his role at Riley, Williams served as vice president of operations at Fairview Southdale Hospital, and vice president of patient experience at University of Minnesota Medical Center and Amplatz Children’s Hospital.

Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and business administration from Brigham Young University in Utah and his master’s in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota.

Outside of work, Williams spends most of his downtime with his wife and their four children, be it attending choir concerts or lacrosse matches or helping with homework. He also enjoys playing golf and reading, and is active with his church and Boy Scouts of America.
