Alfred Aplin is a Senior Research Development Scientist at the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research since February 2019, previously serving as a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Washington from January 2003 to January 2019. Aplin's academic journey began with a B.S. in Biology from Antioch College (1982-1987), followed by a period at the University of Chicago (1988-1990), and culminated in a Ph.D. in Molecular and Developmental Biology from Indiana University Bloomington (1991-1996). Aplin's early career included roles as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington (1998-2002) and a Research Technician at the University of Chicago (1988-1991).
