Valerie Koo

Valerie Koo currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent at Seattle Public Schools, providing high-level support during a period of significant organizational change. Prior experience includes roles as a School Board Communications Specialist, where Valerie advanced board engagement strategies, and Communications Coordinator at the Washington State Women's Commission, where a statewide communications strategy was developed to promote gender equity. Additional experience encompasses positions at the University of Washington Medical Center, Belltown Inn, Open Doors for Multicultural Families, Lake Washington School District, and YWCA Seattle, focusing on patient services, early childhood education, and community programs. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood and Family Studies, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, a TESOL Certificate, and a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Washington.
